Your Visit to Battle Museum of Local History

We realise your visit will be a different experience but, as usual, volunteers will be happy to answer your questions and point out items of particular interest. Please note that, under the current arrangements, it will not be possible to view the Stothard Print – it would be impossible to clean the display chest safely.  All the other exhibits are available to view, including the special exhibition on ‘Books of Battle’.

We would be grateful if you would support our volunteers by following the measures that we have put in place to protect both visitors and volunteers:
If you are displaying any symptoms of Covid, please do not come to the Museum.
We need you please to wear a mask – it is a small Museum and this is required as mitigation for keeping a social distance of 1 metre+ to help keep other visitors and the volunteers safe.
There will be a maximum of 10 visitors in the Museum at any one time.
If required, please queue outside the Museum at a distance of at least 1 metre away from other visitors.
Please sanitise your hands on arrival and departure (and if necessary, before handling goods) – sanitiser will be provided.
You will be required to provide a contact name and telephone number/email address so that you can be contacted by the NHS Track and Trace, to protect Museum visitors and volunteers: NB your details will not be passed on to any other organisation or used for any other purpose and will be destroyed after 21 days.
Please follow the one-way system and keep at least 1 metre away from volunteers and other visitors.  Once you leave the Museum, you will not be readmitted to resume your tour – you will need to start at the beginning again if you wish to re-enter.
Please use contactless to pay for any purchases/make donations, wherever possible.

In further support of your safety, the whole Museum will be cleaned at the end of each day and frequently touched surfaces, like door handles and hand rails, will be cleaned every hour.

We hope to see you soon!
